AI has been sold hard for three years, and most businesses we speak to have seen a demo, been impressed, and then struggled to name a job it would actually do for them on Monday morning.
The uses that pay for themselves are usually dull. Reading a supplier invoice and getting it into the accounts system without anyone typing it. Sorting three hundred inbound emails into the right queue. Pulling the delivery date out of a customer’s purchase order. Answering a stock question at eleven at night that would otherwise wait until morning.
How we approach it
We look for tasks that are high volume, low judgement, and currently done by a person reading a screen. We prove the value on a small slice of real work before anyone commits to a platform, and we build in a way that lets a human check the output.

Questions we get asked
- Is our data safe?
- It is if the system is built properly. We can run models that never send your data outside your own infrastructure, and where we use a hosted provider we use business agreements that exclude your data from training. We will be explicit about which applies to your project.
- How do we know the AI is not just making things up?
- By designing the job so that it cannot. Extraction and classification tasks can be checked against the source document. We steer clients away from uses where a confident wrong answer would go unnoticed.
- Do we need AI at all?
- Often not. Plenty of problems presented to us as AI problems turn out to be integration problems with a simpler and cheaper fix, and we would rather sell you that.
